Fall is upon us, and that means it’s time for beautiful fall foliage, pumpkin patches, and warm baked goodies. You can find all this at Cooper’s Farm. But with all the treats, come the tricks. You’ve probably made your way through tricky corn mazes before- but how about one with two phases?
Well, Cooper’s Farm is the perfect activity to add to your Fall bucket list. Located in the Durham Region, this farm has a 10 acre corn maze that is anime themed this year! So calling all anime lovers- this maze is yours to take on!
Corn Mazes- Let’s Get Lost
Cooper’s Farm has not one but two corn mazes (labeled as Phase One and Phase Two) that span over 10 acres! The theme for this year is anime! The mazes feature characters from Dragonball Z, Pokemon, One Piece, and Sailor Moon (my personal favourite). Phase One is described as the easier of the two mazes. While both are family friendly and relatively easy to navigate, Phase One is a great maze to get started on and will help you get the hang of working through a corn maze. Phase Two is slightly more difficult and requires a bit more attention to detail and concentration. But both are extremely fun and the perfect place to spend a Fall afternoon.
One of my favourite things about the corn mazes at Cooper’s Farm is the clues scattered throughout the mazes. Both Phase One and Phase Two have clues that can be found throughout the mazes. Solving the clues correctly will help guide you out of the maze. However, if you answer incorrectly, the clues might actually lead you astray!
Pumpkin Patch
This farm has an outstanding selection of pumpkins for the Fall season. There’s so many different colours, sizes and styles. I picked up a small little pumpkin to carve for Halloween and I can’t wait to display it outside throughout the month! And if you’re a fan of pumpkin seeds, don’t skip out on picking up a bigger pumpkin. The larger pumpkins on the hill are filled with pumpkin seeds that can be roasted and enjoyed throughout the month!
After picking out your pumpkin, guests have the option to take a wagon ride back to the main entrance of the farm. The wagon ride is a great opportunity to check out the entirety of the farm and enjoy the beautiful autumn weather. It’s a bumpy ride for sure, so make sure to hold on tight because it’s definitely a ride to remember.
Farm to Table
Last, but certainly not least, let’s not forget about the treats at Cooper’s Farm. There is plenty of fresh produce available for purchase- including eggplants, carrots, peppers and many more. The quality is first class and you know you’ll be taking home good fresh produce to the family when you shop at Cooper’s Farm.
Don’t forget to check out their specialty maple syrup, honey, jams and apple ciders. I personally purchased the strawberry jam to enjoy at home. And I can confidently say it’s one of the best jams I’ve ever had! It pairs perfectly with butter on my morning bagels.
Cooper’s Farm also sells meats, including a wide selection of ribs, assorted steaks, ground beef and ground pork. The meats are all pasture raised and there are plenty of options to fill your freezer with.
And for desserts on the farm, there are pies, tarts, sorbets, cookies, brownies, muffins and the list goes on and on. I opted for Coop’s Wonderful Pumpkin Dream Cookies, and Fresh Baked Butter Tarts. These have to be my favourite part of the entire visit. The dream cookies had a beautifully whipped cream cheese filling, encompassed by soft pumpkin flavoured cookies. These cookies have definitely been making cameos in my dreams, ever since I had them! And the butter tarts. Oh the butter tarts! There was a perfect balance between flakiness of the tart and sweetness of the butter filling. And I can’t wait for next fall season to visit again and have another taste of these goodies.
