Markville Mall has a new Indigo bookstore, and it’s just in time for the fall season!
One of my favourite things to do as the weather gets chillier, is cozy up with a good book. And so, when Indigo opened their new location in Markville Mall, I visited on opening day.
Walking in, the store seems deceivingly small; however, it is anything but. There is so much to browse and experience throughout the store. The books are organized by genres and are easy to find. There is a great selection of new books, classics, top trending, and of course staff picks. Not to mention, the store also highlights amazing books from pan-Asian voices, indigenous communities, and many more. There’s definitely a book for every reader.
Beyond the Books
The store is filled with more than just books. There is an atmosphere about this location that invites you to come in. It feels like more than a bookstore, and a big part of that is because of the small café set-up at the back of the store. Completely automated, there are a great selection of drinks and Daan Go snacks available for purchase, along with seating. Daan Go has been a family favourite, and so I’ll definitely be visiting Indigo at Markville Mall again to try out their goodies!
The site also includes home and lifestyle items, including decorations for Halloween and the upcoming Christmas season. There’s comfy pyjamas, beautiful candles, and let’s not forget the cutest mugs.
The children’s section is one of my favourites. Usually when I’m trying to buy a gift for a child in my life, I’m navigating multiple aisles trying to find the right one for their reading level. Indigo at Markville Mall has gotten it right! The books are organized in a way that makes it easy to find an amazing book for the little reader in your life- based on their interests but also age. And let’s not forget, the children’s section is also stocked with a wide variety of toys, gadgets, and activities for children to enjoy.
Last but definitely not least, Indigo at Markville Mall has a lot of entertainment items up for purchase. There are board games I’ve never seen before- as well as new versions of the classics we have grown to love, including Tapple and Taboo. There seems to be endless puzzles and advent calendars already out for the upcoming holiday season. There are gifts and stationary items for every occasion. And let’s not forget, Indigo now has merch! Just by the check-out counter, there are tote bags and hoodies up for grabs.
All in all, Indigo at Markville Mall is more than just a bookstore. It is a place to come, unwind, and let your mind wander. And this location feels like a place where everyone in the community can visit and enjoy. Indigo at Markville Mall is definitely one for the books!
